AGI & SAM x TOPMAN Launch Event

Last night I was asked by Topman to photograph their launch party for Agi & Sam's first collaborative collection. As this is a mix between the most prominent menswear store on the high street and the most talked about menswear brand du jour, I knew it would be a busy night. Considering this night 'busy' is the biggest understatement of 2013, as Apartment 58 was packed to the rafters. Despite being in such close quarters, I somehow managed to fight for my square foot to photograph some of the attendees.

Behind the Scenes: The Duchamp London Cufflink

 photo IMG_3931s.jpg

This month, British luxury menswear brand Duchamp London invited me to photograph behind the scenes at their cufflink maker in the English countryside. As an advocate of British manufacturing as well as an unhealthy curiosity in how things are made (as a child I was obsessed with 'How Do They Do that?'),  I jumped at the chance.

Traveling to Kent, I got a glimpse of a true cottage industry and a craftsman at work. We watched Bill as he created a molten alloy metal, poured it into hand-made molds & pulled out robust almost-finished luxury, just like magic.

100 Beards #PinItForwardUK

 photo pinterest.jpg

This month, Pinterest launched it's UK 'Pin it Forward' campaign. Despite this being the first official launch in Europe, the site already has a pretty huge following. I joined in 2011 and very quickly got into the swing using the site to source inspiration for my work. Pinterest is so visual, it seems perfectly engineered for a photographers use.

With a few boozy Pinterest get-togethers in London last month, I've truly re-integrated into the pinning world. It's been incredible to meet so many bloggers & vloggers in person who are also Pinterest aficionados. Through the banter at the Pin it Forward UK campaign launch, I spotted a few pinners who are top of my follow list...namely Individualism, Martell Campbell and Menswear Style.

You can follow me on Pinterest here @GarconJon - the next blogger on the #PinItForwardUK campaign is My Car Gossip.

Sartorial 7: Jonathan Daniel Pryce

The Sartorial 7 | Jonathan Daniel Pryce

The latest installment from Sartorial 7 has been launched on Threads TV and this time it's yours truly who takes the stand. On the video, I was asked what I thought of men's interest in style vs. fashion - see above for the results.

The full video discussing Shimla jewellery will be launched during London Collections: Men on Topman Generation - keep your eyes peeled for this next month.

Jimmy Choo Men's Store Opening: Dover Street, London

There seems to be some kind of revolution around the #Selfie these days. Although I don't usually dabble in such activities (my Instagram is proof) I was caught red handed at the Jimmy Choo men's store opening on Dover Street last night. Myself and the charming Nick Bain & Neil Thornton were snapped, mid-pose in front of their latest range of footwear.

Sartorial 7: Shimla Jewellery

 photo sartorial7IMG_6176.jpg

Sartorial 7 is a new mens style collective, assembled as a discussion group on style, menswear and London culture. Made up of 7 men in the industry, our first meeting in Shoreditch was filmed by Threads TV and centred around the launch of Shimla's mens jewellery line. Meeting in the luxurious wood-lined boardroom of Coffin on Cake, we opened the drinks cabinate, let the whiskey flow and cut no corners in our first discussion.
