Rare are the moments I attend fashion shows. It's not that I don't enjoy the showcase of design, it's usually that I'm hired to document what's going on backstage or in front. Time is essentially against me. In the case of Y-3 I make an exception as I enjoy the clothing so much. A true master of artistry, Yohji Yamamoto created a collection this season of wearable, hardy clothing with the standard exceptional pushing of boundaries with fit and fabric. The layering of black textures was exceptional and his navy wool overcoat is now firmly at the top of my wishlist.
